Pastor – Kyle Walters

Kyle has been in ministry for eight years, serving most recently for a mission sending organization focused on mobilizing college students for ministry around the world. He and his wife, Carly, have been married since July 2006 and have three kids (Zoe, Caleb & Noah).  His passions are in the areas of personal discipleship, missions, small group ministry, and family ministry. He received his Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Baylor University and is currently working to complete his Masters of Divinity degree. Kyle enjoys hiking, jogging, golf, reading, traveling, a good movie, dates with his wife and dominating at Settlers of Catan.

Carly is a stay-at-home mom who also enjoys serving alongside her husband in ministry, especially in areas of hospitality, and discipleship. When she has the time to pursue personal activities, she likes cooking, reading, going on walks and time with friends over a good cup of coffee. But her favorite thing is date night with Kyle!

 

Worship Ministries Pastor - Grant Yarger

Grant is originally from Morgan Hill, CA, and has been leading worship for more than 10 years.  Grant has served on church staff in Northern California, Washington State, and San Diego County.  Apart from his love for music, his passion to see people center their minds and hearts around the One Thing that matters, Grant loves all things sports.  We even hear that he’s one of those long-suffering Chicago sports fans.

Pastoral Apprentice - Kaleb Niedens

Kaleb, a Kansas City native, moved to San Diego to be a part of Mission Trails Church.  A graduate of Wichita State University, he currently works for Goodrich as an engineer.  Kaleb serves as our Ministry Team coordinator, as well as a Growth Group leader.  When Kaleb isn’t at work or helping out at Mission Trails, you may find him reading, at the gym, eating a California burrito, or tearing it up on the basketball court.

Church Planting Pastor – John Worcester

John is married to his best friend and invaluable church planting teammate Diane.  They have raised two sets of twin sons that are all heavily involved in college ministry or church planting.   Over the last 30 years the Worcester’s have planted and pastored seven churches in a variety of settings.  They also created a training non-profit organization called Church Planting Leadership that has trained over 5000 church planters from over 30 countries and 42 denominations.  While on staff with Saddleback Church (Lake Forest, CA) John created a Purpose Driven Church Planting Basic Training curriculum that helps church planters contextualize and practically apply the Biblical principles found in the Purpose Driven Church.  Over the last two years John has been the planting pastor of Mission Trails Church, that in turn has planted Stonelake Church (Lakeside, CA).  John has turned Mission Trails Church over to Kyle Walters to pastor.  Jeremy McGarity is now pastoring StoneLake which is now known as “7 San Diego”.  Currently, John is working to catalyze a second Mission Trails venue – Mission Trails Church East.
